SoTD: Stevie Ray Vaughan “Empty Arms”

It’s Valentine’s Day, so here’s a song about everlasting love and devotion!  Actually, I don’t think there’s ever been a blues song written about love that didn’t involve tears, a cheatin’ heart or someone walking out the door.  At least SRV makes breakin’ up sound soooo good.  If I could wake up tomorrow with the ability to play guitar like any one artist in history, it would be Stevie.  Sadly, he died when I was still a kid and hadn’t experienced enough of life to know what the blues are.  I didn’t start to appreciate him until after he was gone.

On a happier note, I just rediscovered a bottle of Founders Porter in my fridge.  I’ll make sure to post a review of that as soon as my sense of smell has returned.  I’ll also be churning out a Red Sox preview article at some point this weekend.  Enjoy the evening all you lovers, cheatin’ hearts and scoundrels!
