SoTD: Grizzly Bear “Two Weeks”
I started humming this song in the shower this morning and it seems to have stuck around all day. This represents one of Grizzly Bear’s more cohesive efforts. I’ve never really gotten heavily into Grizzly Bear because of their habit of completely dissolving a song into such an ethereal entity that I tend to lose interest. A lot of their songs start off strong, but at a certain point you start to feel like you’re listening to hydrogen atoms infrequently colliding in the near vacuum of space. Two Weeks manages to keep its shit together without floating off into disorganized foam.
I didn’t pick the official video to link here. Instead, this is a fan-made offering, and it’s completely amazing. The talent and vision of some people blow me away.
