SoTD: Gladys Knight and the Pips “Midnight Train to Georgia”

Here’s a wonderful and completely random song that I love.  I have to admit, as beautiful and powerful as Gladys’s voice may be, I like this song for the Pips.  Unlike a lot of backup singers, they don’t just mimic the lead vocal, they make a contribution to the song that’s all their own.   I can’t help but smile whenever it’s time for it’s time for “Leavin’ on the midnight train to Georgiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, WHOO-WHOO!”

I’m still working on the first installment of my Red Sox 2014 season preview.  The write up on the starting rotation has taken longer than expected.  I might have it done tonight, or it might be tomorrow before it’s posted.
