SoTD: Soundgarden “Jesus Christ Pose”
I guess I was in the mood for a flannel shirt and torn jeans flashback today. I am a Child of Grunge, what can I say. In high school, I listened to a slew of Seattle-based bands throwing out a timely rebuttal to 80’s hair rock. I remember being in art class as a Freshman and the discussion at the table turned to “holy crap, did anyone else see that video by Nirvana? I don’t know what that guy was saying, but the song was AWESOME.” We were blown away. It was like nothing we’d ever heard before after attending countless middle school dances featuring Poison and Cinderella and other such schlock. It was awesome being a part of the dawning of a new era in music.
